Volume 2, Issue 6 Editor: Leyara Rin Contents: 1.) A few words from the Editor Hello all my faithful if not conniving, excitement hungry readers! We have another paper filled with gossip, quotes, insults, and things that might make you see red or possibly even turn you red from too much laughter. So I warn ye here now before you go any further: Suck in a deep breath of air just in case you find breathing normally later just a tad bit too hard to do. Rise of the Classes It is time once again for the Forester guild to be picked apart and scrutinized. And you all know getting into the nitty gritty is one of my favorite pastimes. The once underestimated and incredibly young Master of this guild is none other than Kithrael, he is smart, skilled and resourceful and as he proved recently, not to be messed with. Yulin is standing firm as the second most high ranked member. Clive is the only Drag-al in the top ten but if Oakleaf doesn't stop sleeping so much that might change very soon as Dalion seems within pouncing distance. Green and Brandon are even closer, heck if I didn't know any better I would think Green is trying to keep the Psycian away with a stick and nothing else. Sheika, experienced Anthian traveler of the lands is next followed by two more Anthians Erodan and Rahvin. Corrin, the Fir elf that I personally think all Sanene love to hate even more than the typical Firian is listed as the ninth member and Oakleaf...His mentor? is right behind him probably wishing Corrin would fall in a hole some where.
1. Kithrael Elven the Fir Elf Gladiator Games Greetings Gladiator fans!!! Where were all our fighting lads and lasses??? Despite crowd attendance we had a great time. Annalenia started us off with a 3 captained team game. The captains, Thundax, Kithrael, and a loud little Simpim, picked their players quickly and joined them in their respective corners. Many dismayed Clerics began to moan and grown with the announcement of "No Prayers." The game was cut quickly down as the teams of Thundax and Simpim gave Kithrael's Gladiators a sound beating, taking the majority of them out early. Nearing the end, Thundax's full team began to make short work of Simpim's group and the remains of team Kithrael. After center was called, we still had a couple of people who seemed to be confused. Keaweone ran back to his teammates to help them out as best as he could. He then ran back in.. and once again back out. Quite a fearsome Leuian, but I'm sure we all know the reason behind the running. If it's any consolation, I'd run from the combined efforts of Alazam, Litorth, Rictor, Elenore, Elessil, Stridor, and Athern as well. In the very end it was down to Simpim, and tiny Lunasa from team Kithrael. Simpim being the grounded target went down quickly. After a little bit of a beating Lunasa took to the air, waved to the crowd, grinned, and then fell 50 feet to her death as Litorth clawed her. Great job staying alive team Thundax and a good win!!! The second round was an exciting Kingdoms game. Three brave souls stepped forward to become captain, Jajang, Litorth, and the recent winner Thundax. The numbers were secretly given out, and soon the Gladiators were sent to see whom they would face. As the competition was narrowed down room by room, Jajang became an obvious hero of warfare. Depending on his team mates to kill the foes while he slept them. Thundax lost his life, as did Litorth. This left Roknar to face Jajang, Leriel, Vixen, and Cobraking all alone. A great show on his behalf, as he managed to give out a great deal of damage, but it would not be enough. No heal was called, Leriel took to the air, and soon after Roknar's corpse was sent to the observation room. Good job working together team Jajang!! The last game of the night was an old fashioned FFA. People began running
around the arena like mad looking for a hiding spot, or simply causing
trouble.
When center was called, the Gladiators seemed to gang up on Stanrar taking
him out early. Remaining in center with no where to hide were, Jajang,
Caldron,
Savvy, and a flying Litorth. After flying was banned, the Drake was truly
grounded ... for good. Savvy turned his mind powers on Jajang, and Caldron
helped to beat the Drag-al senseless. This left Savvy, his shield, and Caldron
to fight it out. Caldron managed to get a couple of webs on Savvy, yet it
still
didn't seem to be enough to over power the Psycian. Trying many different
tactics and settling on the web/hit version seemed to work best for the
spider.
Savvy soon could not keep up with the wounds being imparted, but he did a
great job getting second place. Congrats to our FFA winner Caldron!!
It was an exhilarating night, even if we did have a small crowd. Thanks to our
host Annalenia for the entertainment!! Also, I would like to suggest avoiding
Simpim in the near future, who said "All I have is breath, and that stinks."
At
least until she invests in some mints. ;) The Top Fives
1. Remath Beware these individuals who use their hands and feet to defeat their foes. I had an encounter or two with Remath long ago and to this day I don't know if it was the pain that knocked me down upon the ground or the smell of his feet. No bother. Khatmandu the oh so sleepy Khat'sara to the oh so sleepy Kassandra was a big favorite. Paratwa, a member of the nutty Oskaloq family also was a favorite to many of you. Bael and Balor, one Sanene, one Psycian are also thought of as expert Martial artists.
1. Reason The Leader of this temple, Sister Reason I mean Cousin Reason came in with the most votes I have seen for any one person in a long time. Albiez is also seen as an exemplary follower and so got named here. Changeman, earned his place on this vote followed by Azron and Slide, former HP of Set's temple
1. Moondust Now it is time to bash some Secians! Moondust, the fiery tongued outspoken little flitterer seized the first place spot, nothing to be proud of though I assure you. Jazmyn took second place and Oake "I can make your feet turn to stone" Meadow also was seen as heading down this one way path. Demeralda "Don't mess with me or I will chuck some lighting your way" Asmeron swept fourth place and Geos, the feisty little tough guy ended the list of future gobbies.
1. Vekkattraka It seems the Arachnian, Vekkattraka is up to her usual games. Her random killing sprees and excessive violence have earned her the title of The Cruelest Spurian. In second is the massive brute, Borus who is said to have crushed a Go-blin-al skull with his bare hand. Next we have the walking dead, Kbar, who was reportedly present at Maloveous' Keep when the nobility of Spur went to see the Muat and were soon kicked out for being rude. Speaking of walking corpses, Jhered has secured the 4th spot on our list of meanies. Can't you just smell the rotting flesh-breath breathing down your neck? Rounding out our list of vile Spurians is the giddy little evil Secian, Kymberlee who surprisingly beat out the likes of Mestoffa, Sweetie, and Soros. Who would have guessed that a Secian could be so mean? I don't make these up, the voters do.
1. Mikasi Gee, where do I begin here. Mikasi, a young Draco to Spur from what I have heard is definitely essence hunter bait now, wait till she does some growing in size, as if she isn't big enough already. The late Pertinax, were he still alive would be a potential target. Next we have Dawggy, don't know much about this one but I think he might need to be terminated just because he has been cursed with an absolutely ridiculous name. Grayse and Grimfang look out! Essence hunters might be calling your name one day! *The information contained within does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Spurian Spectator Staff. Although we are within rights to laugh uproariously at the content. Changeman's Vault :::A wiry Sanene man stands across the street from the temple Odarous. He is squinting at it painfully in the sun, occasionally looking down to draw in a sketch book. As you approach he makes the sketch book vanish with a quick wave of his hand, but you get a glimpse of what he was working on..a depiction of temple Odarous in ruins. With a welcoming smile he reaches into the pockets of his shadowy red silk magician's cloak and begins to show you some of his favorite scrolls.::: Welcome once again to my vault, where all conversations in the Spur become public property to be enjoyed by all. Somehow this work dodging slacker has kept this column going for a good long time. How is this possible? Because some of my wonderful readers spy for me and send in what they hear in the Spur. Keep it up people! If you hear someone say something amusing, impressive, historic, moronic, memorable, thought provoking, or just damned hilarious, then please write it down and send it to me at Stlkerazzi in the poor quarter. Heck, if you got quotes from old journals, then go ahead and send em in. It's helpful if you use standard black ink and include the race and profession of the speakers in the quote. As before, I'm looking especially for quotes in the various racial languages in the Spur, as heard by a speaker of that language. At the end of this column I got a small Hooman quote, but I'm still far from understanding those strange round ears. Many thanks and Secian nuzzlings to Leyara, Morpheus, Milanden, Vixen, my runt sister Reason, and to anyone else that helped. Milanden asks, "Smell something?" Wing says to Kymberlee, "I am sorry for slapping you and messing up your plan" Lilly says to Valphein, "If you dump September, I will be your khat'sara" Oakleaf says to Vrkeetkktka, "My favorite Firian recipe is Sanene arm, with
just a hint of spider legs." Rev says, "That rag is worse then 5 old Flerian ladies at the washin hole for
spreadin tales" Grath says to Korl, "Go find a Psycian and kiss it." Kagee says to Paratwa, "Admit it, you just love me, and can't help yourself." An assassin swung a short iron dirk at Morpheus. "I am Dragonman! The greatest Dragon, sent to end crime in Spur!" Callik says, "OK, everytime Rotts loses an argument we are manipulating his
words" Rynock says to Avtar, "You know what I mean. That hag doesn't have the brains
of an empty box" Titanium says, "It is day after day of endless, mind-numbing battle. There
is no end in sight." Bump asks Semper, "We put Squeeky elf in pan now?" Windfury says to Lazrus, "Vlad attacked me. He's weaker then I thought" Banath yells, "The TSC is wherever the Grinner rests his royal feet" Reason says to Zazbot, "Well, stick around. TSC is like a carnival, except
for
free, and all the freaks are out of their cages." Rollie exclaims to Kassandra, "Every time I turned around.. Dead! Dead!" Vilken asks Michael'a, "You sleep for a year or two and you're already tired?
I
thought that we were going to the AGC?" Kithrael exclaims to Chasdity, "Thy eye is twitching!" Danecker says to Banath, "Take a nap" "Well the tunic is, er, wet...and it clings." "The gulfs of Taath, where love is used against you." Stanrar says to Valphein, "You stay away from me, I hear you khats clean
with your tongues." Odessa says to Salavdore in Human, "Eww yer gonna get a bath yet" News Ariakasterrende was seen giving away a weapon and a book to Valphein, and a bag full of diamonds to Oake in TS shortly after the kidnapping and subsequent rescue of Kento the evening when A Secian followed Sweetie only to end up in the temple where she was killed, which led to a Drake being killed I heard inside the temple trying to get to this Secian and also numerous other Secians being attacked, chased and killed also in what was a blood bath that seemed to stem from the acts of this first Secian on that day. He then donned his battle armor, and left town taking Lysandra with him. Neither one has been seen since. After doing some checking around it is clear now that he was angry and quite disgusted with some who had claimed honor and also angry at some of his own temple mates. He guarded the tunnel entrance into Temple Taath against multiple opponents to the best of his abilities. He was insulted multiple times in an attempt to lure him away from his duties, and into a duel, but he chose to suffer the indignities until he was attacked. I also found out that many in the temple itself deserted it as soon as it came under assault, which didn't help matters now especially since this incident seems to have driven them both of them out of Spur. Sillo, the once dead Anthian has been brought seemingly back to life somehow by a female Anthian named Kerensa. And it seems as if all heck is breaking loose in their world. It seems as if Sillo is now completely in charge of the Anthian Flight, or what is left of it. Rynock either was stripped of his title of War Leader or voluntarily gave it to Sillo. As to the rest of the Council? Time will tell if they hold their own and stick together or disband because Sillo forces them too. Here is an invitation: If any Anthian wishes to get in touch with me I urge you to do so, and I mean any Anthian...Yes this goes for you too Sillo, if you can think clearly long enough to get your thoughts together.
