Volume 2, Issue 2 Editor: Leyara Rin Contents: 1.) A few words from the Editor Welcome to the second edition of the Spectator for this year. I think you all will find this as enjoyable to read as the last issue. We have tons of quotes, some humorous things, some serious things, a dash of mystery, in another scroll you will find an interview Reason did with Alazam....Unfortunately, I could not reach Gus before I published this but if I find him I will make his column available to you. Rise of the Classes For this issue we have the Heart Cleric's guild. Still holding strong in the number 1 spot we have the oh so elusive Leuian Purrkinn. Verbaniah also affectionately known as Verbi to some is very secure in second. Jazmyn is next followed by Alynia. Fifth in the guild is held by Prattle, the second Leuian in the top ten. Benni, another one who doesn't seem to be about much is barely clinging onto the sixth place. Morgaze will soon fix that I think and swap places with her. Next we have Kyrinne and Layne, Kyrinne is closer to taking Morgaze's place than Layne is to taking Kyrinne's spot. And finally we have Tygerlili, The HP of Rinanni who holds the tenth place in the guild. She might not for much longer though if Audra starts consuming large amounts of sugar and goes wild.
1. Purrkinn Pouncers the Leuian The Top Fives
1. Sweetie OK I don't know what you all eat to survive on but eat more! Before a mighty Spurian wind comes up and blows you all away! Sweetie and Marlos just walk on down to the Rose Eternal and start shoveling it in, OK? :). Better yet since some if not all Secians can drag others that are several times their size, just do it that way. Branwen, Callik, and Illata, What have you been eating? Leaves? No offense to you of course though Callik...
1. Kithrael From all the votes I got, there was no question on who you all thought deserved this title. Kithrael got more votes than all the others in the top five put together. Tula's also an obvious favorite. Benni the Secian took third place, followed by Prattle, the only Leuian that made the list. Verbaniah rounds off the list in fifth place.
1. Alazam Oye! Alazam the Desert Prince surely sparkled in this category, pun intended of course. Banath the Grinner came next, it is to the point with me that it would be easier just to say, "Hey there Grinner" instead of "Hey there Banath" Don't you all agree? Or maybe, "Hey there G!" OK enough of that nonsense. Puss the Leuian got picked, as did Aliyah, court seamstress for the Desert Prince himself. Demeralda also must adorn herself enough to get some notice to be voted for here anyway.
1. Changeman Honor comes in many forms, so take heed my Pride ring wearing furry acquaintances. Blood alone doth not a Leuian make, well.. Lockpicking alone doth not a thief make. Changeman, Konichiwa, and Felixim, all Sanene of course got votes from others, not just from other thieves either. Jaspere and Yaquah are also considered honorable thieves...Kudo's to you all, I think... :)
1. Noctorus This is a fun one, these clerics with the evil fingers and the ones who love them. Hrm, good story material there. Noctorus, that oh so nice Leuian with the dangerous looks and even deadlier smile took first place. Kilnu, one who I have not seen in a long long time made the list also. Three Secians, Audra, Kyrinne, and Tula know how to put those nasty creatures in their final resting place with a simple point of a well manicured finger. ***The information contained within does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Spurian Spectator Staff. Although we are within rights to laugh at the content. Changeman's Vault :::A wiry, dark skinned burglar carefully guides you around a pit, at the bottom of which are iron spikes with a draco skeleton impaled on them. With a grand flourish he motions you into a storeroom piled high with scrolls::: Welcome once again to my vault, where I hoard those precious words that slip off the tongues of Spurians. I just got back from partying in Saldaea, but fortunately a lot of you have been keeping an ear out for me in Spur, so we got plenty of additions to my hoard, despite my slacking. Many thanks and a blessing on you and all your descendants to Lisssa, Keystiessanova, Reason, Avea, Mortrid, Kissinda, and to my editor Leyara, for all the quotes and for being a benevolent dictator and not limiting my artistic freedom. Remember people, this column relies heavily on the help and support of others. If you hear someone say something funny, clever, interesting, or impressive please send it to me at Stlkerazzi in the poor quarter. It also helps if you include the race and profession of the people speaking. Enjoy! Kissinda says to Keaweone, 'You're having quadruplets!' Aliyah says to Talar, "We were saying how adorably cute you were..
NOT" Tygerlili says, "It seems the altar of Rinanni has become a pen for
familiars." Clive says to Realder, "You're still the head Drag-al in the comics
guild" Sweetie says, "Fugitive Tea." Silvadiem played flute on her flute.
A terrible performance! It almost causes you pain! Keystiessanova waved her spidersilk banded ebony magician's wand
at Banath. Alazam says, "Nix is one of the biggest cry baby whiners in the
competitions...you didn't hear that from me." Konichiwa says to Headflinger, "Dunno. But generally speaking I don't
much care for anything that falls when birds are flying overhead." "Oh no! Its the giant monkey ape thing! Ahh" Stanrar says to Dellarik, "I hear Michael'a is offerin to aid people with
learning more about his digestive system...he's lookin for someone to eat" Kento asks, "Wit out me's crown who am I?" Dellarik says to Vollid, "Dear me, I think I am turning into a Secian.
Now even my insults sound nice." Borus says to Eldracus, "Hoomans jest happen to be mah favorite meal" Sweetie says, "Corpses, they're nifty." Danecker says, "In the old Empire Leuians were used as bottle washers
because their tails can get inside them and clean them so well" Emmaline says to Kraggon, "But ya so.. dreeeeamy.." Thandril says, "I love the look in their eyes when I hook kick 'em in the
head and hear that hollow ring." Kagee says, "The only thing you know that's deep Callik is the recesses
of your brain" Kirrra says, "I can't take Litorth anywhere... he starts buying stuff" Meqetlh says to Niesa, "I will just try to remember ne'er to bite ye" Avea says, "Voodo's not evil, he's a ninny" Corrin says to Banath, " The Odarians are behind it all, Odarous is just
as greedy as Taath." Random says, "I know you don't believe in Gods, but Odarous is mocking
you, and believe me, he's enjoying your punishment." *Note to the readers from Cman: This last quote I'm putting in long, but we don't get enough quotes for the Monit's so I'm gonna put it in anyway. It's written from the point of view of one of the Monit's involved. Here is what the Monit's are really saying when they think we can't hear understand them...... Lisssa says in Monitanian, "He expected me to scratch out a conversation
in the dirt." Happenings about Spur *Results of a recent peddle, in which Beluu was the merchant... A thick beaded bearskin shield, to Aliyah for 100 gold. Now before I delve into the more serious stuff, let me just share with you some amusing things: *I have been informed that the Arachnian named Calkkrtc sleeps with a teddy bear. Yes, folks a teddy bear! How utterly Human. Maybe it is one of those dolls we got from the last festival, but I think what he gets the most enjoyment out of, is a life sized Penthanian doll. Calkkrtc, when he can't find the 'real' thing, webs it and does all sorts of torturous things, like ripping all the stuffing out with his teeth and replacing it with.... Hrm, I should just stop right here and not write anything more on this. *Recently, Jazbo beat Smakem in an eating contest, it was made known to me that he somehow ate a roasted mammal faster than Smakem. I personally think that Smakem has gone on a diet and the size of his stomach has shrunk, which enabled the Monitanian to win. Either that or Jazbo has taken to submerging himself in sludge filled pools and eating off the bottom. *On a more serious note I had an opportunity to speak recently with Rynock Gavinson, Anthian Council War leader, Preate of the Anthian Flight, Sword Cleric of Odarous, loving husband to Lorianna Odea-Gavinson. He had quite a lot to say about something that had happened recently. Something he says was just a misunderstanding that got blown way out of proportion by a few San Elves, one of which was none other than Kagee. Rynock had been heading to the eastern housing to go on a brief hunt when he came across Siala, another Anthian. He saw that she had been badly injured. I asked him what had happened to her but he said that she could not seem to remember. Siala had told him that she was feeling weak and wanted to go somewhere else. He carried or drug her to the shack in the EH and when Siala asked him to stay with her till she felt better, he agreed. The next thing he knew, Kagee revealed herself, she had been hiding in there the entire time and Rynock had no idea what she was doing in there in the first place. He said she laughed at him and then ran out of there. But, he then said to me that "Kagee is a rather odd person" and that I can quote him. Siala told him she still didn't feel well enough to travel, so they stayed in the shack and Rynock stayed with her. He said she must have hit her head or something because she kept rubbing her head and wincing in pain. I asked him if he had seen her hit her head and he just shook his head no. Siala did not know what had happened to her either, but Rynock did say that when she had left to travel back home she had been in good health. Rynock also thought that she might have a concussion because he said she seemed rather incoherent. Well, eventually Kagee returned with Rayner, Siala's fiance, Avea, another San and Marianna, yet another Anthian. Rynock said that Kagee was going on to Rayner about how they both were in the shack doing something they should not have been doing. Rynock made it clear to me that he was married and would never dishonor his marriage. Rayner started believing Kagee's words. (At this point, I went south to ask Rayner if he would join us and Zef, another Anthian, wanted to know what my fascination with Sillo was, what I had to do with Sillo, that he wasn't my kin, etc..He confused me completely but soon walked off before I had time to interrogate, er talk to him) So I spoke to Rayner and he said that Anthian's are creatures of emotion, sometimes their blood runs hot. He blew his lid and lost his temper he told me not because of what Kagee had told him, but because of what he himself had seen. He then went on to say that Rynock was acting strange, then Rynock jumped in and told Rayner that he once again was jumping to conclusions about what he had actually seen. Rynock then wanted to add one last thing, and that was that "Anyone who knows him knows that he would not do what is being claimed here." And that "Family and race come first to Anthian's" Now here I am going to add another twist to this story. Rayner told me that a few weeks ago, Rynock's wife Lorianna made a pass at him. She either tried to kiss him or did kiss him, he said that he pushed her away and told her it wasn't right. And he did tell Rynock what she had done immediately. Then Siala comes back to town and this is what happens.. If Rynock did in fact do as Kagee said, would one motive be because his wife displayed her affections for her husbands best friend? *Kagee's take on all of this:
I have been informed this is now in the hands of the Council Researcher, Mystigaal. Some are saying Rynock abused his power and skills against an injured and possibly ill Anthian, Is it just a simple dispute over a lovely young female Anthian? Is he lying? It is clear that he and Kagee don't care one bit about each other but did Kagee really see all she claims to have seen? Or is she just out to destroy him for her own personal amusement? A few days ago in Town Square the same shimmering image of an Elf maiden that had been seen before appeared once again. Her hair was like spun cornsilk and even in the wee morning hours fairly gleamed... Once again she had a handful of freshly picked wildflowers in her hands, and once again she called out for her father..Who is she and where is her father? Is she just a lost soul? Trapped between worlds and just does not know it yet? Will we ever know? To advertise stuff, send in your scrolls to our scribe! Thanks for reading everyone! |
