Welcome to another issue of the Spurian Spectator! Due to the tardiness and absolute extinction of the DFC staff, we opened our own. So, little by little we will try to fill the gap with all that stuff you love, Top Fives, Rise of the Classes, Peddles (Who bought what and why?), and plenty more! We will try to publish once a week or every two weeks at least, and will most likely alternate different features like Top Fives, every other issue. Bear with us, just starting we are a tad unorganized, confused, and without talent. But, we want to hear from you, do you want more stories, more news, more current, or more features? Send your messengers here. For now, I hope you enjoy!

Blister's Buzz
Blister

Halfaloaf OsKaloq died a bitter death at Sa's altar, with Kymberlee the Secian standing by. The khat was so enraged of the Pride their new Khatyr, Purrkinn Offaces. He told Kymberlee that he wished to return to his Khat'sara, Koria, who was rumored to be dead long ago. His last words, "She (Purrkinn) can burn in hell for all I care." Halfaloaf was very bitter and resentful to the Pride populace of Spur. Like many others, he felt it was a political scam, rather than the preservation of Leuian Pride and honor.

Many of the other Khats feel his death was in vain, and his claims ridiculous. Most say he was never active and usually just insulted members. Lord Khatmandu Snaggletooth told us, "He was only active for one day." While, Sammeth commented, "Halfaloaf was an active Pride member for many years.." There seems to be much conflicting information, a coverup? Many of the Khats see his suicide as dishonorable. Gwon told us, "He was a Hand, Hands never quit. Suicide is quitting."

As you all know, all followers of the Lords of Chaos have been exiled from Spur, fat good it did, though. This reporter has seen nothing but followers of the LoC casually chatting in Town Square Central! Again, one asks, "Where are the Knights?" Remath, a Flerian outlander was confronted about being in Spur still, and he simply replied, "Are you going to to make me leave?" We heard no further arguments. In fact, this seems to be the attitude of many LoC followers who feel quite comfortable in Spur. Lord Guaire has made desperate attacks at Lord Knight Meqetlh, while killing familiars, and stripping armor. There's also a rumor the Thieves' Guild is recruiting him.

Speaking of LoC fanatics, we hear the legendary Rings of Arioch have been floating around Spur. The Rings of Arioch were once used to convert people by the hundreds to Arioch. Keep an eye out for those rings, if you see one, run! And ladies, don't accept any marriage proposals just yet. For now, the source of the rings are unknown.

Speaking of posessions, Rosalee the Secian found a gem in the sewers. She claimed the gem had evil powers and she was being partially controlled by a Master Assassin named Zeth. If you're looking for healing, expect to get a shining.

The Psycian Desert Prince (So he claims), Alazam was heard complaining about being bored, bored because his harem girls were killed. It appears his harem girls were broken, does that mean he needs a new toy? Any matter, soon after his complaints he was seen hitting on the Secian, Demeralda. So, if you don't mind being used, and thrown away when you get old, see Alazam the Desert Prince!

The followers of the Goddess of Peace were in a panick after their statue of Rinanni located in Treehaven was stolen, and shattered. The Rinannians have yet to solve the mystery. As temple members gathered for their weekly meeting, a despairing fir elf ran through town announcing, "A grievous offense has been committed! Bandits have stolen a statue of Rinanni from Treehaven's temple to her! They broke the statue up into chunks and have run off with them!" Unfortunately the news spread through Spur days after the offense took place, giving the thieves time to fence off pieces of the statue which have been found through out the city. Grafittia and vandalism similar to this litters Spur, also, many suspect it to be the same culprit.

The vandals are believed to be LoC fanatics, while most of them have been weeded out of the city proper. After traveling in the southlands, we came upon a few LoC scouts eluding the Taathian seargeants at the gate. Taathian forces are tightening their defenses, and expecting the rest of the Pantheon to back them as a temporary alliance. For now, the two forces are at a standstill and the tension is thick enough to cut with a knife!

Well, we have another update on our honorable Knights, sadly it's not fortunate. Some of the Knights' honor is dropping like flies, and others are rising into the skies. Lord Knight Meqetlh has been doing a fair job, while we have seen a dozen new Knights pepper the city. This is all well, more protection I suppose. But, how qualified are these Knights? What ever happened to squires, and proving yourself worthy? Or are the Skeletons carrying Knight titles along with their daggers? Any matter, Stanrar Mandor has just about gone off the deep end, fed up with -our- injustices he stated, "I'm too tired to arrest anyone, I'm just going to kill anyone who commits a crime." Is it just me, or are those mandates just for show?

Many don't know her, many know her all to well. An enchanting human, Mirielle Ono leaves nothing but danger and mischief in her wake. Several weeks ago, she was found dead at the Taathian posting area, and Sages concluded she had been poisoned. Many rumored the murderer to be Matron Vekkattraka, the loyal fanatic of Taath. She had a loyalty problem with Taath, and almost brought the temple down in dust. The mystery is still unsolved as to Vekk's main intentions or reasons. But, speak of the devil, we saw Mirielle wandering in a secluded area dressed in plain garb and a nasty wound on the side of her head. She was paler than ever, and still quite disturbed. I managed to catch up with her and get a short interview, but she tells us her memory is on and off and can't recall it all. So, look forward to her tale in the next issue, and if Vekk is out there--a good time to catch up with your old friend, eh?

The Penthanian essence hunter, Nomita was seen in Town Square the other day, and came in relative peace. The wise and mighty Voodo the Draco made a fool out of himself, constantly taunting Nomita, and calling her a 'cheater' for being resistant to magick. Like a spoiled child, he taunted her to kill him and take his essence, yet she calmly stated she was merely harvesting his scales at the moment. She also claimed that many of the Dragons she killed were in self-defense, and she need not kill them to take their essence in the first place.

Top Fives
Blister

I want to thank everyone for their votes, I had more than enough feedback, and hope you all vote again next week! Here they are!

Most Honorable Knight

1) Meqetlh
2) Jazbo
3) Caille
4) Stanrar
5) Yulin

Even though the Knights have been under much fire lately, Meqetlh got the most favorable votes. He has proven himself, with judging people fairly and justly if needed. Next, was Jazbo, even though he has retired, many felt he was an honorable one. Dame Caille came soon after behind, with Stanrar and Yulin trailing behind.

Most rebellious Spurian

1) Changeman
2) Guzzle
3) Khane
4) Sweetie
5) Foom

Changeman is rebel to the core, and always has been. Master thief of some of the most notorious crimes, and those that you don't know about..yet. Although, recently we hear Changeman has been taking it easy. Next, was the Taathian fanatic, Guzzle. If you've heard, "Taaf alwayz!" in the distance, I guarantee Guzzle is close by, and I would not test him. Following behind Guzzle, were surprisingly psycians. What are they mixing in the madness cures these days? Next was Foom, who takes a more political approach, and often tries to change the government by changing the system rather than killing those involved.

Best Couple

1) Kassandra and Khatmandu
2) Tygraa and Tygerlilli
3) Changeman and Avea
4) Reason and Pelian
5) Kalistyn and Meqetlh

Some claim their bond is stronger than the moons, Kassandra and Khatmandu made #1 easily. They are inseperable and more often than not, are traveling together. Another Khat'sara bond, Tygraa and Tygerlilli came in 2nd. An honorable Knight, and a faithful Rinnanian--we don't expect any affairs here. Changeman and Avea are often seen together, usually QUITE intimate. Finally, Reason and Pelian, share their common faith in love, Set. Lets just hope their love proves to be more..honest? Finally, Kalistyn and Meqetlh came in 5th place, whats more attractive than a bearded hithual woman?

Best Gladiator

1) Borus
2) Sordum
3) Methos
4) Danetus
5) Mestoffa

These gladiators proved themselves with their strength, tactics, wit, and just plain brute strength. The latter being most prominent with Borus, who came in first. Borus's blunts, his arms, need I say more? Nipping Borus on the butt close behind was the ole glow-worm, Sordum. Sordum has proved himself over and over in the years as one of the most skilled psions, and also has been known for many gladiator tactics. Besides, his psi-bolts do more damage than a cataclysm. Methos the Drake in 3rd, his claws hurt. The Drake Danetus has been one of the best strategists lately, and has one quite a few games, a deadly combo of magic, weapon, and wit. Although, recently she has staged, so look forward to those claws we all love. Following behind, Mestoffa the latent Arachnian psion. Isn't and Arach's looks enough to kill? Yet, combined with webbing, bolts, and confuse you have a nightmare.

Best Dressed

1) Alazam
2) Tygerlilli
3) Kassandra
4) Konichiwa
5) Kyrinne

Alazam came in first for this one, indeed he may be a Desert Prince, or dresses well enough to pass for one! His diamond jeweled silk turban swayed the votes the most, along with his silver and black striped pants. Tygerlilli might not only get votes for best dressed, but most outfits! Our scouts ( Yes, we have 'scouts'! ) saw her wandering the city in 7 different outfits..and those were just the ones she carried on her person. From her gossamer amethyst backless gown, to her jeweled clerical robes she is ready for any occasion. Kassandra and Koni came fast behind, with their tight and leather clothes. We've also heard rumors of Koni being caught in the AGC, with her black leather halter top, and that whip of hers.
