A Question of Justice

What I am about to recount here some of you might not even look twice at. That is fine, but for the ones who do read it, take note of the facts as I write them here.

* A young khit was caught killing a townsman, was this particular crime self defense? We will never know and soon you will know why.

* After the killing blow was given, Kara walked in. She immediately, without one word to this khit rendered him unconscious with a sleep spell, saying that he had no clue what it was to be a Leuian. She then slapped him before he even had managed to stand up again.

* Harsh words were exchanged then, on both sides. He spit on her then for calling him a fool and while he was still laying upon the ground, she began to attack with her claws, not stopping till he was dead at her feet. Even going so far as to abuse his lifeless body before it vanished.

* Moments later in TS, she was confronted by Kissinda, who was just nearing the end of her shunning, and Stalton, another Leuian. When asked by Stalton about killing a khit because of a name he called her, she made it very clear that she WOULD do it again.

* Stalton then directly said, "He hardly stood a chance against you, yet you thoroughly destroyed his body for meaningless words." And "Violence is not always the answer, is it?" To that she had no comment though and walked away.

* This information was passed along to Netraa, even a recording that showed the khit dying under Kara's claws. She went to Tarmit with it and he seemed to be aware of this khit and the actions Kara had taken.

* Tarmit made it clear to Netraa that this young khit had been acting as a Tarr and that he was killed to stop the murder of others. Netraa told Tarmit that this khit needed education though, not execution and even Tarmit replied that he had told Kara that she had had other options open to her, and he was very concerned with the timing of her attack, he himself felt that it would have only been necessary to land a single blow, not pursue this to the death.

* Tarmit and Netraa sought out September, the Lawmistress of the Pride at this time and see what she thought with the evidence that was given. In short she simply said, "How can we investigate a crime when we have no victim?"

* She has investigated crimes when in all reality, there was no victim. Surely all of you remember Harper and what Kissinda had claimed to have seen? The suspicious story of a fire, the lies, etc etc. Was there a victim in that case, or just lies spread by some habitual liar, who sought to get attention in any way she could?

* Harper was missing, she could not speak for herself, she could not go to September and tell her side of things, but the case was still investigated. Now here we have a khit named Mattimor, who also seems to be missing, he cannot go to September, no one knows where he is, there is proof he died, there were witnesses. But September refuses to investigate this crime.

* Netraa asked Tarmit and September, "Do you have to have a body for there to be a murder? They both said yes. In Harper's case they had no body, just a Leuian that for whatever reason, was missing but that case got investigated. In this case they also have a Leuian that is missing, one that had family and friends most likely just as Harper does. But the Lawmistress of the Pride in short has said that she cannot or will not investigate this because Mattimor is no where to be found.

* Netraa and the one who sent her the recording was concerned that nothing would be done about this, and they were right. Maybe having a mate as a Clawmaster does make a difference, because no scrolls were hung upon the walls about this, there was no investigation, Mattimor is still missing, and Kara walked away with not even a slap on the wrist. The Khatyr and the Lawmistress should be happy they managed to keep this from other Pride members and sweep this case so far under the proverbial rug.
