Of Chaos and Confusion

The not-so pleasant smell of death and war is in the air. As I'm sure you all have noticed, Spur is currently at war with the Lords of Chaos! If anyone happened to sleep through it, or stay dead through it, I'll run through the events as they happened. The troops and forces of the Lords of Chaos just recently attacked our city, causing a Spur-wide state of panic, havoc, confusion, and chaos.

Though Spurians fought bravely and fiercely, we were not able to defeat even half of the enemy forces. Our former governor Perin, surrendered the city. Among the boos and hisses that welcomed Perin when he arrived in Town Square in chains, several people decided to elect Lord Khatmandu for governor. All God-following Spurians were ordered to immediately move to their temples, while Dragons were to leave, and Psycians were to report to the Psycian Center. All Taathians are hereby exiled. Nice turn of events, eh?

The Taathian temple was destroyed, and anyone wearing the mark of Taath, or even speaking the name of Taath, will be promptly escorted from the city. I have spoken to many Spurians on their position and feelings about the Lords of Chaos controlling the city, and this is what a few of them have to say...

Meqetlh says, "I can speak for none other than myself, but I do not recognize the authority of the LoC. Kagee has informed me my title will be stripped from me because I will not support their rule. I feel that attacking the average follower be a mistake, it be a waste of time and strength."

And as always, our noble Dragons that we depend on came through for us again..

Voodo says, "It is a religious war and one that has no place for Dragons I could care less if the city burned save for the Secians"

While their ever faithful counterparts seem to disagree..

Sesha says, "No, I don't accept their rule. As a Secian I feel a NEED to heal any that is hurt, I may not like it, but it is a NEED for me"

Many of this city's Psycians seem to be in a state of panic. The only comment I managed to get from Bethany was this.. Bethany says, "This is all the master plan of Soros, hejoined forces with the LoC to take over Spur, steal the Taathian sausage business, and promote free love of sheep throughout Spur."

Speaking of Psycians..many of them have been doing a great jobof keeping Lords of Chaos followers dead. While the number of casualties in this war is outrageous, most of them seemto be accumulating from the Lords of Chaos followers' deaths! The Lords of Chaos rule this city, yet their followers are frequently seen running for safety, while the local Taathian exiles socialize in the center of the very town they were exiled from!

High Lord Merlin the Muatana-al was seen in Town Square today. He acted very surprised that the Chaos Lords had attacked the city, and more so at the amounts of violence coming from within the city. Though he claims to have known nothing of the Chaos Lords' plan to attack, many believe he was a key figure in all of this. He also stated to us all that while he is a representative for the Lords of Chaos, he is most certainlynot a follower, or worshipper of them. Arioch was only his teacher, he says. I wonder what kind of things he learnedin that class?

While doing some last minute research, I came upon some mortified farmers and housewives living around the outskirts of Spur. Like many, they had no idea why their beloved home was being attacked. One farmer indignantly shouted, "You don't see me callin' mahself a Lord and attackin every peaceful city in tha world, now do ya?!"

Another housewife merely muttered between sniffles, "This is what happened to that Saldaea place! It was a nice quiet town, until these Lords of this and that came 'round scaring the children! And look at it now!"

Last of all, for those that care to hear what the Spurian followers of the Lords have to say for themselves, Kagee, the wise all-knowing San Elf, leaves us with these words.

Kagee says,"I am pleased by the outcome of the war, but I knew that it would be that way. My Lords are as strong as I've always said. If Spur had listened, thing would have been different. The fact they continue to not listen, says to me they have not learned, that in and of itself shall cause more destruction and harm."

In the midst of all the accusations and murders going on, I managed to overhear some information about a Spurian counterstrike against the Lords in an attempt to gain back the city. Though I could not gather any other information, I will keep you all updated!
