Located in the beautiful Alleghany Mountains of western Virginia, Camp ACCOVAC offers a haven from the hectic pace of modern everyday life. Camp ACCOVAC is a non-profit Christian camp and retreat center owned and operated by the Virginia Advent Christian Conference, a member of the Advent Christian General Conference of America, Inc. (www.adventchristian.org). Although owned and operated by Advent Christian Churches, the camp is used by many denominations and by business and family groups. The summer camp program is open to all youths, regardless of race or national origin.
A large sawmill operation, Millboro Lumber Company , was located on the grounds that are now Camp ACCOVAC. The community at that time was known as Hotchkiss, Virginia. One of the original buildings still stands today. The "band saw" operation was powered by steam engines and employed a large number of personnel. Several large buildings which housed the workers stood near where the present cabins are located. For the benefit of its employees the lumber company provided a chapel and a commissary.
21st Century Activities
Trace the old railroad bed located on the property. Swim and picnic while gazing at the distance vistas. Plan an outdoor wedding at the tranquil amphitheater. Play softball, basketball, fish, read, or just relax.

Camp
ACCOVAC is situated on 84 acres in Millboro, Virginia, conveniently
near the George Washington National Forest, Virginia Game Commission,
stocked trout streams, and restaurants within 20 - 30 minutes drives.
The campground is 18 miles from Hot Springs which is known for skiing,
golfing, and spa facilities.
20th
Century History.
The old Hotchkiss Station on the C&O Railway marked the place
where the lumber was loaded for shipping.
Hike
or bike two miles of easily accessible trails through the woods
and along Mill Creek.
